Amazing tropical island for sale in Palawan, The Philippines - Fabulous island property for sale near Puerto Princesa, Northern Palawan - Incredible Philippine island real estate for sale

Terribly picturesque; the idyllic Robinson Crusoe-style getaway that we all dream about. That dream can be yours if you have the money and the wherewithal to follow your dreams to fruition!

This beautiful private island for sale, covered by coconut trees, is surrounded by white sand beaches and cobalt-blue sea which reflect perfectly the many reefs, sheltering thousands fishes that swim with you in these hot waters.

It really is a dream island with a natural beauty that once there you will not want to leave. Sea turtles come to lay their eggs every winter on the beach of the Island, which is one boat ride away from the small fishing port where one can find all ones needs.

Imagine, if you will, the clichéd tropical island paradise. This beautiful coral islet conjures up castaway dreams on a tropical isle, the ultimate get-away for rejuvenation of the body and soul. It is a tiny green oasis floating in the desert of the sea, surrounded by islands with names as exotic as the trade winds and coconut trees. Wild windswept beaches, the sea and sunshine, and only the sound of the surf and the cries of the sea birds are your only company. Sometimes the whole ocean is as calm as it can only be in the tropics - a shield of shimmering silver from which the islands stand out as turquoise bosses. Again, it is of cobalt blue, with changing bands of purple and gleaming pink, or of grey-blue - the reflection of a sky pallid and tremulous with excess of life. White sandy beaches, palm trees waving in the breeze, warm sunshine (but not too hot), shade when needed, a coral reef off-shore perhaps, exotic sea-shells, abundant fish, no insects (and so no fevers), isolated from civilization but with views of other islands to the west and south to explore or visit by kayak.

This island paradise for sale is the ideal place to experience Palawan's beautiful, pristine sea life and its unspoiled jungles, islands, beaches and rivers.

Perfect for outdoor enthusiasts and nature lovers, as well as those who simply yearn to kick off their shoes and relax in a hammock gently swaying on the tropical breeze while listening to the soothing sounds of the sea.

Suitability

Nautilus Island is the perfect place for either an island beach resort or private retreat. Whichever will be the buyer's choice, eco-tourism is highly recommended. The real estate island is surrounded by a long stretch of white sandy beach and crystal blue waters with a vast area of coral reef, making it deal for resort development.

There is already a development plan for 40 cottages possibility to modulate up to 190 sqm residential villas and more on request with a large covered terrace of 15 sqm facing the sea. But the island could also be used for the location of luxury villas, or could even be used for a private retreat.

Access

From Manila, every morning, one hour flight will take you to Puerto
Princesa, the capital of Palawan. A minibus will meet you there for the two hours drive along a scenic coastal highway before you arrive at a picturesque fishing village where a boat will bring you to the Island in less than one hour.

Palawan

“I liked the look of Palawan on a map — the sausagey shape of it, the way it linked Indonesia to the Philippines, its great distance away, its apparent insignificance, its only one town-dot of any size, its fringe of a thousand scattered islands, some in the Sulu Sea, the rest in the South China Sea, the whole place nearer to Borneo than to its own mainland. All this stirred me…”

Paul Theroux, Outside magazine, 1998

"If you believe the travel agent clichés, Palawan is the Philippine's last frontier. For once it's almost true. Tourism has yet to penetrate this long, sword-shaped island to the southwest of Luzon, and travelers willing to take the rough with the smooth will find a Jurassic landscape of coves, beaches, lagoons and razor-sharp limestone cliffs that rise from crystal clear water. Nature is making its last stand in Palawan, with government officials in the provincial capital, Puerto Princesa, declaring war on loiterers, loggers and dynamite fishermen. Even in the less populated areas - of which there are many - the battle for the environment is on. Palawan is made up of 1780 islands and islets, most of which have irregular coastlines that make excellent harbours. Thick forests covering these steeply sloped mountains assure adequate watersheds for rivers and streams. Many of the islands are surrounded by a coral shelf that acts as an enormous feeding ground and nursery for marine life.
It is sometimes said that Palawan's Tubbataha Reef is so ecologically important that if it dies, the Philippines will also die.

Palawan is both an island - and a province. The Province of Palawan (pronounced Paláwan) includes mainland Palawan, the main islands of Busuanga, Culion, Linapacan, Cuyo, Dumaran, Cagayanes and Balabac and some smaller islands, shoals and reefs.

Palawan is the largest province of the Philippines, and the third biggest island in the Philippines, covering an area of about 14.800 sq.km. Of the 7,107 islands, which make up the Philippines, about 25 % are part of the Province of Palawan. Administratively it is considered part of Luzon, even though it is geographically well separated from this. The main island of Palawan is aligned NE-SW between Mindoro and North Borneo Islands, approximately 586 kilometers southwest of Manila.

A mountainous spine, an average of 3,500 feet in altitude, with the highest peak rising to 6,800 feet at Mount Matalingahan feet above sea level, runs from almost the entire length of the island. In the north the mountains give way to low rolling hills, and steep and fast flowing rivers. On both sides are meandering streams and rivers winding through the mountains, nurturing robust stands of mangrove in the lowlands before flowing out to the sea. Palawan harbours vast tracts of tropical rainforest whose canopies of trees carpet mountain ranges running the length of the mainland. The rainforests extend to the seashore, where 1,959 kilometres of coastline has miles upon miles of white sandy beaches, and crystal clear waters are home to 11,000 square kilometres of coral reefs that abound with myriads of multi-coloured fish. Renowned underwater explorer Jacques Costeau described Palawan as having one of the most beautiful seascapes in the world.

The province boasts extraordinary scenic wonders like the extraordinary limestone islands of El Nido, St. Paul Underground River – the longest in the world, Tabon Caves and Honda Bay Islands. Puerto Princesa, the capital of Palawan, is the chief seaport and the centre of trade and commerce, but is also famed for being the “Cleanest and Greenest City” of the Philippines. Palawan the largest province of the Philippines, but has the lowest population ration, very few people live in this vast area of sandy white beaches and lowland jungle forests. Palawan is Eco-Tourism galore!
