Langkawi in Malaysia, Ha Long Bay in Vietnam, and Palawan Province in the Philippines. The thousand islands of Ha Long Bay in Vietnam have been listed as the United Nations world Heritage site. There are more than 30 major hotel resort properties in the area, not including the many bungalows and three star hotels. Currently the area hosts more than 1.63 million visitors a year, making it the most popular tourism destination in Thailand.


DEVELOPMENT POSSIBILITIES

Andaman Island is an extremely rare commodity, an unspoilt tropical island strategically located off the beautiful East coast of Phuket, the nexus of tropical development in South East Asia and renowned as a holiday location around the world. Just owning the complete island would be a wise investment, with land at a premium now in Phuket both in terms of supply and price. From a wider perspective, there are not many opportunities in the world at this time, to own a private island suitable for development with a perfect location and competitively priced.

Despite it's long sections of undeveloped coastline, Phuket has very little titled beach front land to buy or build on. There will be a ready market for a Private Island Estates with the rich and famous people from all over the world, who already visit Phuket on a regular basis. Only 35 mins from this island, the famous Hollywood actor Bruce Willis is opening a boutique hotel with the official opening in early 2005. Already his guest list for the grand opening with many Hollywood stars in attendance.

The Private Island Estate concept is to create a private, gated community on the island, with every estate having an oceanfront parcel. The parcels would be large (minimum two rai) and well landscaped.

The main development would be an island village in the central flat land that connects the lagoon and the South beach. The village comprises all the amenities and management facilities such as reception lobby, restaurants, shops, swimming pool and service facilities.

The large Northern jungle land comprises enough land for 40 luxury villas.

The small Southern Jungle land comprises enough land for a boutique 40 bungalow resort.

The design will maintain as much of the existing landscape features as possible with the addition of tropical gardens to create an experience of discovery. Residents will be able to push off from their estates from the beach by small crafts to explore neighboring islands all year.

The island is very protected and sheltered and thus under no threat from possible tsunamis like the west coast of Phuket which faces the Andaman Sea. A Tsunami would have no effect on this are whatsoever.


AREA VALUE

The island is located toward the top of the Phuket island where there are a number of new high value villa and resort projects presently being constructed with villa prices in the order of $2.5m USD and upwards. There are no other developments on any other nearby islands around Phuket.

Phuket Island has become the most sought after location in Southeast Asia for people looking for a “lifestyle” (as opposed to a “house”) in a lush, tropical environment. There are over 12,000 expatriates living in Phuket. Krabi also has also had huge investment over the past two years. Investors have turned from Phuket to Krabi, which is relatively cheaper and also has an international airport and long, beautiful beaches. The official valuation of land in Krabi increased 79 per cent by January 1, 2004, but land transactions increased by as much as 100 per cent in some areas such as Ao Nang and Lanta Island.
