Holckenhavn Castle
This is you chance to stage the event of a lifetime. One of Denmark’s most prominent castles is for rent if you wish to accommodate your guests, employees or family in the perfect surroundings of an exquisitely preserved renaissance castle.
History
The first half of what is now known as Holckenhavn Castle was called Ulfeldtsholm and was built from 1579 to 1600 by the noble family Ulfeldt. In 1672 the castle became a baroni for the commandant at Kronborg, Eiler Baron Holck.
Once again the castle was renamed. This time to it's present name, Holckenhavn. The Holck family has now owned the castle for more than 330 years. The present owner, Christina Baroness Holck, is the 12th generation of the Holck family and she is the first female in the family to take possession of the castle.
Agriculture & Forestry
Out of some 1250 acres of farm land nearly 250 acres are lakes, wetlands, coverts and other natural territories not used for farming. The rest is used for growing traditional crops including rape and grass seeds.
The forestry at Holckenhavn comprises approximately 800 acres of land. The forestry employs two full-time woodmen and a forestry trainee. During the prime season in October and November 15 extra short-time employees are busy cutting decorative greenery. The forestry consists of: Hardwood: 64%. Softwood: 18%. Christmas trees and decorative greenery: 18%.
Hunting
The shooting has always been close to the hearts of the various owners of Holckenhavn Castle. Therefore you will find numerous coverts and wetlands spread throughout the lands of Holckenhavn.
The shooting rights are leased by two independent hunting parties. However, the castle’s personnel are responsible for organising shootings and preserving the game.

Before dinner you and your guests can enjoy a walk in the English-style park. Or you could enjoy a cup of tea or coffee in one of our reception rooms.
You can have the dinner in the magnificent Baronial Hall with room for 200 guests and dance in the beautiful Dancing Hall.
Holckenhavn Castle has hosted various events including gala dinners, fashion shows, medieval festivals, and concerts.
The Baronial Hall has room for 200 dining guests. In addition the English-style park offers a wide range of possibilities for large events. On several occasions we have had more than 2500 dining guests in a huge marquee in the park!
Rooms
During the spring of 2003 Holckenhavn Castle finished decorating 8 double rooms with en-suite facilities.
The rooms can be rented for a weekend or a single night as ordinary hotel rooms. In addition the rooms can be used in connection with events held at the castle.
